Celebrate Hickory Day
What an extraordinary event we enjoyed on
July 4th as over 150 of our members and friends gathered to celebrate our great
golf course, our members and honor some very special people.
A few highlights....
New bench's were dedicated for holes # 1 and
13, thanks to the generosity of Flo & George Gadomski and the Men's League (in
memory of Jack Svoboda)
George Gadomski was inducted into the
"Hickory Ridge Hall of Fame" honoring all his golfing accomplishments and
service to HRCC
We remembered four very special members we
lost in 2008 and donated over $2000 in their memory to their chosen charities

We honored Bob Ruszala for 25 years of
dedicated service to HRCC and our members and also recognized his being named
the recipient of the "Distinguished Service Award" by the Golf Course
Superintendents of New England
We "surprised" Rick Fleury with a big
celebration of his 20th anniversary at HRCC, it was great to have many of Rick's
friends and family members with us to honor our friend and professional.

Women's Two-Ball Open
Deb McCulloch and Tara Zidonik played great partner golf to win the overall
championship with a score of 73 at our Women?s Two Ball Open Saturday June 28th.
Deb, who is coming of yet another injury has regained much of her form and Tara
has been diligently working on her game all spring, which has obviously paid off
for her. Congratulations to both Tara and Deb.
Ksieniewicz also had a great
round needing only 21 putts for her 18 holes including 14 one putts! What an
incredible feat!! Judy and Daughter Kristen carded a net 57 to take top net
honors in the second flight.
CongratulatiCongratulations to Sharon Crow for all her
incredible work in reviving this event. Sharon and her committee left no stone
unturned to fill a field of 72 players as well as make the experience special
for all who participated. It was indeed a successful event!

Hickory Ridge to Host US Amateur Qualifier
We have been once again chosen to host a qualifier for the 2008 USGA Men's Amateur Championship on July 30th, some of the Northeast's best players will be trying to earn a spot in this prestigious event being held on the famous Pinehurst # 2 course this year.
